Material and Standard
● Material: The main material of A105 carbon steel flanges is carbon steel, and its chemical composition and mechanical properties are in accordance with the requirements of ASTM A105/A105M standard. Specifically, the content of carbon (C) in its chemical composition is not more than 0.35%, the content of silicon (Si) is not more than 0.35%, the content of manganese (Mn) is between 0.6~1.05%, and the content of sulfur (S) and phosphorus (P) is not more than 0.050% and 0.040% respectively. In addition, a certain amount of copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), molybdenum (Mo), vanadium (V) and chromium (Cr) and other elements may be included, but their contents are also subject to strict limits.
● Standards: A105 carbon steel flanges follow standards including the American Standard ASTM A105/A105M Carbon Steel Forgings for Piping Components and the Chinese Standard GB/T 12228-2006 Technical Conditions for Carbon Steel Forgings for General Purpose Valves.

Performance Characteristics
Strength and toughness: A105 carbon steel flange has high tensile strength and yield strength, while maintaining good toughness. Its tensile strength is usually not less than 485MPa and yield strength is not less than 250MPa.
Processing performance: A105 carbon steel flange is easy to process, including cutting, drilling, bending and other processes, to meet a variety of complex processing needs.
Welding performance: A105 carbon steel flange shows good weldability in the welding process, and is not easy to produce defects such as porosity and cracks.
Types and Structure
There are various types of A105 carbon steel flanges, including but not limited to the following:
● Weld Neck Flange (Weld Neck Flange): with thicker neck, suitable for harsh working conditions such as high pressure, high temperature and corrosive media.
● Slip On Flange: easy to install and dismantle, suitable for medium pressure and temperature piping system.
● Threaded Flange: connecting pipes through threads, suitable for low pressure and small diameter pipeline system.
● Blind Flange (Blind Flange): used to close the end of the pipeline or connect the inlet and outlet of the equipment.
