F316 Stainless Steel Material Properties
● Chemical composition: The chemical composition of F316 stainless steel mainly includes carbon (C), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), silicon (Si), nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo) and other elements. The content of Ni is between 10.0% and 14.0%, Cr is between 16.0% and 18.0%, and Mo is between 2.0% and 3.0%. The reasonable proportion of these elements makes F316 stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance.
● Corrosion resistance: F316 stainless steel flanges can resist the erosion of a variety of chemicals, including strong acids, strong bases, salt solutions and seawater. Its corrosion resistance is better than ordinary 304 stainless steel, so it is more widely used in more corrosive environments.
● High temperature resistance: F316 stainless steel flanges can maintain stable performance in high temperature environments, and are not easily deformed or damaged by heat. Its high temperature resistance is better than many other stainless steel materials, so it is suitable for high temperature and high pressure industrial applications.

Types and Structures
There are various types of F316 stainless steel flanges, including but not limited to the following:
● Weld neck flanges: with thicker necks, they are suitable for harsh working conditions such as high pressure, high temperature and corrosive media. Weld neck flanges are connected to the pipeline through welding and have high strength and excellent sealing performance.
● Slip-on flanges: easy to install and dismantle, suitable for medium pressure and temperature piping systems. Slip-on flanges are connected with pipelines through bolts and nuts, which are easy to install and have certain flexibility.
● Threaded flange: connects with pipeline through thread, suitable for low pressure and small diameter pipeline system. Threaded flange has the advantages of simple structure and easy installation, but the sealing performance is relatively weak.
● Blind flange: used to close the end of pipeline or connect the import and export of equipment. Blind flanges are usually used in conjunction with gaskets to ensure sealing performance.
