Manufacturing Standards and Dimensions
● Manufacturing Standards: Mainly in accordance with the U.S. manufacturing standards ANSI/ASME B16.9 and MSS SP 43.
● Size range: Common sizes range from 1/2" to 24" (DN15 to DN600), depending on customer requirements and manufacturing standards.
Type and Structure
● Type: According to the length of the flanging, it can be divided into long type flanging short section and short type flanging short section.
● Structure: One end of the flanging short section is usually formed by stamping process to form the flanging, and the other end is prepared to be welded to the pipe with the same bore diameter. The wall thickness and material can be selected according to the actual demand.
Material and Grade
● Material: including stainless steel (e.g. 304/304L, 316/316L, etc.), alloy steel, duplex steel, nickel alloy, low-temperature steel, carbon steel and so on.
● Grade: According to the different materials and manufacturing processes, it can be divided into several grades to meet the needs of use under different pressure and temperature conditions.
Benefits and Applications
It can reduce the overall cost of high-material flanged joints, since it is possible to lower the grade of the lap flange compared with the short end and the tube.
Simplifies the installation of flange, as the lap flange can be rotated on the tube, which facilitates the alignment of the bolt holes. It is widely used in oil, chemical, gas, water treatment, etc., especially in the areas of corrosion resistance and sealing.
